(Norfolk, Va.) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 2015 Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Academic team, including 92 student-athletes who achieved academic success during the 2014-15 school year.
For DSU, eight student-athletes garnered the recognition: Julius Allen, Sabrina Burrell, Erin Cooper, Nicole Gazzola, Omealla Gordon, Emanuel Hitch, Teyla Joseph and Nojai Veras.
The MEAC recognizes student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, including sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as transfer student-athletes, who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year.
“I applaud our men's and women's cross country student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average,” said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. “In addition to acknowledging the accomplishments of these student-athletes, I commend the academic support staff, faculty and coaches who contributed to the academic success of these student-athletes.”
