The Nebraska graduate (2016) and former softball standout joined the Hornet staff in 2017. A four-year softball letter winner, Tyson helped lead the Cornhuskers to the College Softball World Series as freshman in 2013. She was also a member of Nebraska teams that reached the NCAA Tournament super-regionals in 2014 and made regional appearances in 2015 & '16. In addition, she helped lead the Huskers to the Big 10 regular season title in 2014.

Tyson's collegiate career was also highlighted by three Big 10 All-Academic Awards (2014-16), two Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selections, three Tom Osborne Citizenship Team honors and Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award recognition. 

Her career statistics include a .988 fielding percentage, 10 home runs, 66 runs batted, 106 hits and a .364 on-base percentage.
