Mrs. Jane F. Hicks is in her 32nd season with the Delaware State University Athletics Department and her fifth season as the first female Director of Football Operations. Fifth Season to work with Equipment Staff and now, Equipment Manager. A 2014 DSU Diamond Extravaganza honoree, Hicks served as the administrative assistant for Delaware State University men's and women's basketball programs, campus advisor for Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Campus & Co-Advisor for NCNW (National Council of Negro Women).
 
Since joining the Delaware State University family in 1993, Hicks has served in various capacities in the athletics department. From Dec. 2003 to June 2005, Hicks was DSU's Assistant to the Athletic Director/Director of Academic Services, where she created and formed the First academic center for student-athletes (Memorial Hall). Her tenure at Delaware State has also included 10 years as Activity Director for the DSU/National Youth Sports Program, aimed at youth 9-16 years of age, low income, disadvantage youths in need of direction and positive nurturing in their lives, which encouraged them to attend College. Assistant Tennis coach, Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions for Athletics, and Acting Director of Athletics Compliance/Assistance. From 1993-2004, Hicks was the Hornets Head volleyball coach, she also served as the University’s head softball coach from 1993-99.
 
Hicks holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Education from Delaware State University, a bachelor’s in psychology with a minor in Health and Physical Education from The Fort Valley State University (Ga.). There, she was a two-sport athlete (Basketball, Tennis) a volunteer with Special Olympics Area, and NYSP. She is a member of Dover, Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. where she serves as Hospitality Chair, she is a member of Mt. Zion AME Church (Dover, Del.) and works with the youth of the community and liaison to college campus. Hicks is married to her high school sweetheart, Kenneth, where they reside in Dover with their two sons, Kenneth Jr. and Kendrick, and daughter Kennisha (RIP). In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, crabbing, spending time with family and friends, spending time with her pride and joy, grandsons Zion and Royal.
