2019: Preseason All-MEAC First Team... Started every game as a member of the offensive line. Paved the way for DSU to be fourth in the in the MEAC with 1689 yards… including nine games with 100 or more yards rushing… 100 or more yards in seven straight games to end the season… Two games with the offense gaining over 200 yards on the ground, including a season high 249 rushing yards vs. Norfolk State (Nov. 16)… The offense scored a season high six touchdowns, along with a season high 418 total yards vs. Lincoln (Sep. 14).
2018: 2018 All-MEAC Third Team selection … helped pave the way to a No. 2 MEAC ranking in rushing offense for the Hornets at 187.9 yards per game in 2018 (2067 yards total) … DSU’s 2018 yards per-game and total rushing yards were the most by the team since averaging 191.3 ypg and tallying 2104 in 2006.
2017: Competed as a regular along the offensive line his first season on the active roster … earned high marks to help lead Hornets to season-high 510 total yards, including 401 passing (also a season-best) vs. Howard on Oct. 14 … helped pave the way to 2017-high 179 rushing yards in 33-30 victory over Morgan State (Nov. 11) … his play helped contribute to five-game stretch in which Hornets passed for at least 226 yards in each contest … held his own in DSU’s 161-yard rushing performance against FBS West Virginia on Sep. 16 … Hornets had runs of 47, 25, 17 and 14 yards in West Virginia contest.
2016: Sat out the season due injury.
High School: Played two varsity seasons at Simon Gratz ..helped lead Bulldogs to 2015 4A District 12 championship … team posted 12-4 overall record and 8-0 conference mark during the 2015 season ... also saw action at defensive end and tight end during high school career.
Personal: Son of Monique Atherton (mother), Johnnie Crawford (father) and Bruce Thomas (step-father) … has two brothers, Malik, and Azir, and one sister, Trinity … full name is Kaiden Joshua Crawford … nicknamed “Big Kai” … hopes to become a college professor … born 6/24/98 in Philadelphia.
