Ollie Taylor

Ollie Taylor returns to his alma mater for a second stint on the Delaware State coaching staff. Taylor previously served as wide receivers coach and special teams coordinator for the Hornets during the 2018 season.

He most recently was a member of the Hampton University staff as inside wide receivers and tight ends coach during the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Prior to Hampton, Taylor was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at NCAA Division II Concordia University in St. Paul, Minn., for two years. While at Concordia, his offense averaged over 305 yards per game to help lead the team to a 6-5 record in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in 2019.

Taylor also spent two years as wide receivers coach and co-special teams coordinator for Saginaw Valley State University (Mich.), a Division II program in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC).

Taylor had a pair of stops at NCAA Division III Widener University (Pa.), where he was wide receivers coach. This included a breakout year, as the program posted the top-ranked passing offense in the conference and ranked 18th nationally in 2015. During his first stop in 2012, he was the head junior varsity coach, assistant coach for the varsity running backs, and an assistant for strength & conditioning. That year, he helped the program to a Division III Elite Eight (national quarterfinal) run, ranking fifth in the country in scoring offense, third in fewest sacks allowed, and 20th in total offense.

In between his tenure at Widener, Taylor coached at Seton Hill University (Pa.) in the 2013 season, helping the team to the 13th-ranked passing offense in the nation as the wide receivers coach and gameday signal caller.  Following his season at Seton Hill, he spent a season at the prep level as offensive coordinator at McKean High School in Wilmington, Delaware for the 2014 campaign.

Taylor competed for Delaware State as a wide receiver and quarterback, and he was a member of the Hornets’ 2007 MEAC champion and NCAA Tournament team.

He earned a bachelor of science in Management with minors in Finance & Banking, Marketing, and Economics from Delaware State.
