DeSean Jackson

DeSean Jackson

DeSean Jackson enters his first season as Delaware State University's head football coach in 2025. He was hired on Dec. 27, 2024.

In 2024, he completed his first season in a coaching role, serving as the offensive coordinator at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, Calif.

After being drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2008 NFL draft, Jackson would play for 15 years in the league, becoming one of the best deep threats in NFL history. Outside of Philadelphia, where he played two stints, Jackson suited up for the Washington Redskins (now the Washington Commanders), Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Rams, Las Vegas Raiders, and the Baltimore Ravens. Jackson's best season as a pro was in 2013. Starting a career-high 16 games that year, he caught a career-best 82 passes for 1332 yards and a career-tying nine touchdowns.

Jackson's NFL accolades include Second Team All-Pro (2009), three Pro Bowl nods (2009, 2010, and 2013), and the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team (2008). His 2010 Pro Bowl selection was the first time in history that a player was selected at two different positions in the same year: wide receiver and return specialist.

Jackson signed a one-day contract to officially retire as a member of the Eagles on Nov. 29, 2023.

Jackson competed collegiately at the University of California, Berkeley from 2005-07. While playing for the Golden Bears, he earned Consensus All-American (2006), First Team All-American (2007), First Team All-Pac-10 (2006), and Second Team All-Pac 10 (2007).
