A.J. Conley

Conley returned to the Delaware State staff in August 2019 after a year away from Hornet football for his third season with the team.

He coached 12 years in junior league football; 11 with the Stanton Clippers of the CTJFL and one year with the Stanton Raiders of NCCJFL.

Conley also coached three years in the minor leagues; one with the Delaware Warlocks and two with the Delaware Clippers of The National Minor Football League.

Before coming to DSU, Conley coached 15 years in the Delaware high school football ranks; nine years at The Tatnall School and six seasons at Thomas McKean High School (his alma mater). In 2018, he was on the staff at Delaware’s A.I. DuPont High School.

During his high school coaching career, Conley’s teams produced three all-state players, 10 all-conference and 16 academic all-conference players.

In 2013 Conley and his family were inducted into Thomas McKean High School's Hall of Fame.

During his first two years at Delaware State Conley worked with kicker Wisdom Nzidee and punter Fidel Romo-Martinez. They were both nationally ranked in 2017. .

Conley coached in the 2017 FCS Senior Scout Bowl as the South Team Specialist Coach. Delaware State's kicker, Wisdom Nzidee made the trip to Myrtle Beach, SC with him. In 2018, Conley was the Special Teams Coordinator for the East squad in the Division II All-Star Game, also in Myrtle Beach,  and South Specialist Coach in the 2018 FCS Senior Scout Bowl Game.

Conley and Sandy, his wife of 37 years, reside in Wilmington, Delaware. They have two sons; Austin and his wife Cassie  Conley of Wilmington, North Carolina; and Albie (AJC IV) and his wife Dr. Amanda Conley and their sons, James (AJC V) and newly born twins, Nolan and Owen.
