Rocky Mauriello

A native of Atlanta, Ga., Rocky Mauriello joined the Delaware State coaching staff in August 2021.
Mauriello played collegiately for Maryville College in Tennessee and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education.

While at Maryville, Mauriello was voted Team Captain. He was also a three-time Ken Stinnett Award recipient and a J.D. Davis Award nominee for his leadership. While in college, he began his coaching career in the travel ball circuit coaching the East Cobb Patriots, an academic travel team out of Marrietta, Georgia. After two years of being an assistant/pitching coach for the 17U team, Mauriello served as head coach for the next two years of the 16U team.

After graduating from Maryville College, Mauriello married his wife Katie in May of 2019. He then went on to accept the job of pitching coach at Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois where he pursued a Masters of Christian Ministry. As the pitching coach, Mauriello managed the throwing programs, daily practice plans and lifting programs for a 23-man pitching staff.

In the fall of 2021 Mauriello received certifications for Rapsodo, Driveline Pitch Design, and Driveline Foundations of Pitching.

In the Spring of 2021 Mauriello started as the pitching coach at Florence-Darlington Technical College. At Flo-Dar the team went 46-8 winning the region, receiving top 10 national rankings in all polls, and making it to the Junior College World Series. Flo-Dar ended the season with a 3.66 ERA and led the region in every statistical pitching category.

In the summer of 2021 Mauriello was in Traverse City, Michigan with the Pit Spitters of the Northwoods League as pitching coach.
