NORFOLK, VA --The Delaware State Hornets struggled on Wednesday, falling to the South Carolina State Bulldogs 8-3 despite the efforts of Chandler Martin, who went 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI.
Kristin White (10-7) started and took the loss in the circle for Delaware State (26-17).

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets were trailing 2-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Delaware State got on the board thanks to Martin's RBI double with one out.
The Bulldogs expanded their lead to 6-1 before the Hornets' offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the sixth. Delaware State managed to push across two runs in the inning, which brought the score to 6-3 in favor of the Bulldogs. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as South Carolina State added two runs to their tally on the way to an 8-3 final.
