GAME 1 | Delaware State 4, Chestnut Hill 3
DOVER, DE --The Delaware State Hornets rallied to score two in the seventh inning and walked it off on a single off the bat of Mianna Lopez Del Haro to pick up the 4-3 win over the Chestnut Hill Griffins on Wednesday.
Lacee Canada (0-0) started in the circle and picked up the win for Delaware State (14-16). The right-hander went 2.1 innings, giving up three runs, one earned, on two hits, allowing three walks and striking out three. Allyson Fonollosa also made an impact in the circle for the Hornets, throwing 4.2 shutout innings while allowing two hits, with one walk and four strikeouts.
Offensively, the Hornets were led by Lopez Del Haro, who went 3-for-4 on the day with two triples and two RBIs. Chandler Martin furnished a noteworthy performance as well, going 2-for-2 with two doubles and an RBI. Karly Cain also chipped in for Delaware State, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding a double and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the bottom of the first inning. Delaware State scratched across a run off Belle Tetreault when Lopez tripled in Cain.
The Griffins then rallied to score three runs and take a 3-1 lead before the Hornets got back on the board in the sixth. Alanna Yancey came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State, which brought the score to 3-2 in favor of the Griffins.
Delaware State kept its deficit in check, holding Chestnut Hill scoreless before scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim victory, walking it off on an RBI single off the bat of Lopez.

DOVER, DE --Yeannelly Sosa was dealing on Wednesday, throwing a one-hit shutout to lead the Delaware State Hornets over the Chestnut Hill Griffins 8-0.
Sosa (1-0) went the distance for Delaware State (15-16), giving up one hit, walking one and striking out seven.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Zaelyn Harding came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State and get them on the board.
The Hornets then tacked on runs in four more innings, with their biggest output coming in the third when they scored three times.
