GAME 1 | Delaware State 6, North Carolina Central 3
CARY, N.C. --Junior Kristen White dominated on Monday, punching out 12 North Carolina Central hitters over seven innings of work to help lead the Delaware State Hornets past the Eagles 6-3.
In addition to her 12 strikeouts, White (4-7) tossed seven innings, giving up three runs, all of them earned, on six hits and walking four for Delaware State (16-16).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets got on the scoreboard first, starting in the third inning. Delaware State scored three runs in the frame, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of senior Mianna Lopez Del Haro.
The Hornets then held the Eagles scoreless before expanding their lead in the fifth inning. Delaware State scored once on an RBI single off the bat of senior Karly Cain, which brought the Hornets lead to 4-0.
Delaware State held North Carolina Central without a run before expanding their lead to 6-0 the following inning. Freshman Savannah Siffert's run-scoring single highlighted a two-run output in the frame for the Hornets. North Carolina Central put three runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Delaware State still held on for the 6-3 win.

GAME 2 | Delaware State 14, North Carolina Central 6
CARY, N.C. --Senior Mianna Lopez Del Haro racked up four RBI's to help lead the Delaware State Hornets past the North Carolina Central Eagles 14-6 on Saturday.
Sophomore Kaylanie Rodriguez (5-3) started in the circle and picked up the win for Delaware State (17-16). The right-hander went five innings, giving up six runs, three earned, on seven hits, allowing one walk and striking out four.
Mianna Lopez Del Haro went 2-for-3 in addition to her four RBI's for the Hornets. Sophomore Destiny Mitchell put together a noteworthy performance as well, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Senior Nevaeh Terrell also helped out for Delaware State, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding two RBI's.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Delaware State got an RBI single from Lopez Del Haro, scoring Mitchell from third base.
The Eagles then tied the ballgame at one before the Hornets came back to reclaim their advantage in the third inning. Mitchell came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State, which brought the Hornets lead to 2-1.
Delaware State's lead had disappeared once the fourth inning came around and turned into a 5-2 North Carolina Central advantage, when the Hornets re-gained control at 12-5. The Hornets bats heated up in the inning, scoring 10 runs, including a two-run single off the bat of Terrell and a two-run single from Lopez Del Haro.
The Eagles fought back, closing the gap to 12-6 until Delaware State added some insurance in the fifth. Junior Annalisse Santana and Mitchell each scored a run for the Hornets in the inning, bringing the Delaware State advantage to 14-6. The score remained 14-6 for the rest of the game, as the Hornets coasted to the win.
