CARY, N.C. --The Delaware State Hornets broke through after a 0-0 tie in the fifth inning to defeat the North Carolina Central Eagles 3-1 Sunday.
Junior Kristin White (5-7) got the win for Delaware State (18-16). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up one run on seven hits, allowing one walk, and striking out six.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the sixth inning. Delaware State pushed three runs across on sophomore Zaelyn Harding's bases-clearing triple. North Carolina Central put one run on the scoreboard before the game was over, but the Hornets still held on for the 3-1 win.
