Hornets Come Up Short on Day One of EKU Tournamnent

GAME 1 vs. Northern Kentucky

RICHMOND, KY --
The Delaware State Hornets were not able to notch a run against Northern Kentucky pitcher freshman Makaree Chapman on Friday and were shut out 8-0 by the Norse.

Kaylanie Rodriguez (1-2) started and took the loss in the circle for Delaware State (3-7).
 

HOW IT HAPPENED

Delaware State did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Hornets went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the fourth, when Shaniya Lane made it into scoring position with one out.
 

GAME NOTES

» Delaware State pitchers faced 28 Northern Kentucky hitters in the game, allowing three ground balls and nine fly balls while striking out two.
» Mianna Lopez De Haro led the Hornets at the plate, going 1 for 2.
