TOWSON, MD. --The Delaware State Hornets needed 10 innings to finish the job, but earned the 4-3 extra-innings victory over the Towson Tigers Tuesday.
Kristin White (1-5) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Delaware State (5-9). The right-hander went two innings, giving up one run without giving up a hit, allowing three walks and striking out three. Kaylanie Rodriguez also made an impact in the circle for the Hornets, starting the ballgame and throwing six innings, giving up two runs, zero earned, on seven hits, with one walk and two strikeouts.
Offensively, the Hornets were paced by Nevaeh Terrell, who went 0-for-3 on the day with two RBIs. Rodriguez put together a noteworthy day at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the top of the first inning. Shaniya Lane came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State and get them on the board.
The Tigers failed to push any runs across before the Hornets offense got back to their scoring ways the next inning. Delaware State scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Rodriguez, which brought the score to 2-0 in favor of the Hornets.
Towson clawed back to even the ballgame at two before Delaware State reclaimed a 4-2 advantage in the tenth inning. Mi'Shon King and Angie Ordonez came in to score the two Hornets runs in the frame. Towson put one run on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Delaware State still held on for the 4-3 win.
