Coach Brooks reached 100 career wins, senior setter Lena Mykins hit 1,500 career assists and junior setter Paige Ahakuelo passed 1,000 assists, the program recognized Saturday as it opened conference play.
Brooks earned his 100th win with a victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The milestone reflects years of dedication, long practices, tough losses, exciting victories and the relationships built along the way, the program said. Brooks has challenged his athletes to work hard, believe in themselves and understand what it means to be part of a team.
Mykins reached 1,500 career assists during the same match against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The senior has been at the heart of countless plays, creating opportunities, building confidence and helping her teammates succeed.
The milestone represents hours of practice, preparation and an unwavering commitment to her teammates, the program said, adding that her hard work has made a lasting impact.
Ahakuelo recorded her 1,000th career assist in a win over NJIT. The junior's total reflects her consistency, hard work and commitment to her teammates and the sport, the program said. She has also made an impact through the energy and leadership she brings to the court.
The program said it is proud of all Ahakuelo has accomplished and excited for her next few years.
