WASHINGTON, D.C. --Delaware State pitchers surrendered only two, but the Hornets could not muster the offense to take advantage, losing to the Howard Bison by the score of 2-1 on Sunday.
Freshman Rhyannon Stanley (4-3) got the ball to start for Delaware State (17-17, 5-7) and took the loss. Sophomore Kristin White was a bright spot for the Hornets, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit, with one walk and one strikeout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the top of the first inning. Junior Karly Cain came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State and get them on the board. The Hornets were unable to hold the lead, as Howard scored two times over the remaining six innings to grab the 2-1 win.
