Women's Lacrosse Finishes 2025 Season Against Stonehill Skyhawks

DOVER, Del. - Delaware State women's lacrosse wrapped up their 2025 season on Saturday against the Stonehill College Skyhawks in a 24-5 loss.

The Hornets ended the season with a 1-14 record. They were 0-9 in conference play.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Five different Hornets each scored a goal.
  • Taylor Weston scooped up a team-high three ground balls.
  • Kimaari Mondy made 10 saves in goal in 45 minutes of action.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST STONEHILL
  • The Skyhawks jumped to an early lead, but London Stewart scored the first Delaware State goal after a successful clear. Zahra Gotz stopped a 2-0 Stonehill run on a Genesys Spann assist. Spann would later score her own goal with just under three minutes left. It was a 6-3 lead for the visitors after one.
  • The Skyhawks' offense was aggressive in the second quarter with nine goals. Mondy saved five shots despite the Stonehill scoring. At 5:30 left in the quarter, Hannah McMasters got past the goalie on a Ceanna McGirt dime. Stonehill led 15-4 at the half.
  • Even though the Skyhawks put more shots up in the early portion of the third quarter, the Hornets saw a few saves and four caused turnovers. The score was 20-4 through three.
  • Aniyah Jones checked in at goalie for Mondy for the final quarter. Although Delaware State attempted a handful of shots, they were either saved or just off-target. London Downing finished her career by scoring the Hornets' last goal of the season. The game ended with a final score of 24-5.
