GAME 1 | Delaware State 6, Saint Peter's 4
DOVER, DE --The Delaware State Hornets broke through after a 4-4 tie in the fifth inning to defeat the Saint Peter's Peacocks 6-4 Tuesday.
Sophomore Kristin White (0-0) started in the circle and picked up the win for Delaware State (4-7). The right-hander went 2.2 innings, giving up four runs, all of them earned, on four hits. Freshman Allyson Fonollosa also made an impact in the circle for the Hornets, throwing 4.1 shutout innings while allowing three hits, with no walks and one strikeout.
At the plate, the Hornets were led by junior Chandler Martin, who went 2-for-2 on the day with a double, a walk and two RBI. Junior Kayla Evans compiled a standout effort as well, going 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI. Freshman Kaylie Noell also helped out for Delaware State, putting together one hit in one trip to the plate while adding an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets got the scoring started early, putting two runs on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Delaware State scored twice on a two-run double off the bat of Martin.
The Peacocks then rallied to score four runs and take a 4-2 lead before the Hornets got back on the board in the fifth. Delaware State brought home a pair, with one run driven in by junior Mianna Lopez's single, which evened the score at 4-4.
That 4-4 tie turned into a 6-4 Delaware State lead in the sixth. The Hornets scored two runs in the frame, the important hit being an RBI double from Evans. The score remained 6-4 for the rest of the game, as Delaware State held on for the win.

DOVER, DE --The Delaware State Hornets rallied to score six in the seventh inning and walked it off on a single off the bat of sophomore Annalisse Santana to pick up the 10-9 win over the Saint Peter's Peacocks Tuesday.
Freshman Kaylanie Rodriquez (0-0) started in the circle and picked up the win for Delaware State (5-7). The right-hander went 4.1 innings, giving up five runs, two earned, on five hits, allowing no walks and striking out one. Freshman Rhyannon Stanley also made an impact in the circle for the Hornets, throwing 2.1 innings, giving up two runs, zero earned, on one hit, with one walk and two strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets got on the scoreboard first, starting in the second inning. Junior Mianna Lopez came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State and get them on the board.
The Hornets lost the lead they built in the second, but got back on the board in the sixth trailing 5-1. Delaware State scored three runs in the frame, buoyed by a freshman Bria Swewll, which brought the score to 5-4 in favor of the Peacocks.
Saint Peter's extended their lead to 9-4 before Delaware State rallied to score six times in the bottom half of the seventh to claim victory, walking it off on an RBI single off the bat of Santana.
