GAME 2 | Saint Peter's 8, Delaware State 5
DOVER, DE --Freshman Annalise Santana racked up three extra base hits, but the Delaware State Hornets fell to the Saint Peter's Peacocks 8-5 on Monday.

Santana's three extra base hits were the highlight of a 3-for-4 day, and included three doubles and an RBI. Sophomore Chandler Martin furnished a standout effort as well, going 3-for-4 with a home run and an RBI. Sophomore Emma Crowe also helped out for the Hornets, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding two RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets were trailing 5-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board. Delaware State plated two runs off of Saint Peter's pitching, one of which was driven in on a run-scoring double off the bat of Santana.
The Hornets kept the deficit at 5-2 before closing the gap further in the second. Delaware State scored once on an RBI single off the bat of sophomore Kayla Lester, which brought the score to 5-3 in favor of the Peacocks.
Delaware State kept the Peacocks off the scoreboard before rallying to tie it up at five in the third. Delaware State added two runs, including one on a solo dinger from Martin. Saint Peter's then scored three times over the remaining four innings to break the tie and grab the 8-5 win. Martin led the Hornets at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and an RBI. Saint Peter's was led offensively by freshman Taylor Montg, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Freshman Angelina Wag led the Peacocks pitching staff, throwing two scoreless innings.
