DURHAM, NC --The Delaware State volleyball team totaled 50 kills on the way to a three-set victory (27-25, 25-15, 25-18) over the North Carolina Central Eagles Friday on the road at McDougald-McLendon Arena.
The conference victory improved Delaware State's record to 12-13 overall and 8-4 in MEAC action.
The Hornets were led by a double-double from Gerren Tomlin, who registered 17 kills and 12 digs on the day. Martyna Kmuk also added 10 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Morgan Allen chipped in for with 10 digs to go with five blocks from Alondra Maldonado.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Hornets took set one 27-25 propelled by a solid showing on the attacking end. Delaware State put together a .357 attack percentage with 20 kills in the set victory. After the lead changed hands five times, the Hornets took control for good at 25-24 and rode that advantage to victory.
SET 2 | Delaware State carried momentum from a set-one win by securing a 25-15 victory in set two. The Hornets grabbed control of the set lead early on at 3-2 and held the lead the rest of the way. Delaware State opened its biggest lead of the stanza, 10 points, to finish off the set, totaling 15 kills while only registering two attack errors in the set.
SET 3 | Delaware State took the third set to win in straight sets. The Hornets won the set 25-18. Delaware State took the lead for good at 8-7 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Hornets took over the lead.
