DOVER - Alecia Shields-Gadson announced Tiana Cephers as the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations on August 21, 2023. Ms. Cephers comes to Delaware State University after being the Sports Information Director at Livingstone College for a little over a year.
During her time at Livingstone, Ms. Cephers was responsible for website management, social media, and stat collection for 13 sports, and oversaw the content creation for each sport.
Before Livingstone, Ms. Cephers was the Sports Information Director at Bluefield State University from September 2020 to July 2022.
During her time at Bluefield State, Ms. Cephers not only managed the website but, transitioned the website from PrestoSports to Sidearm, oversaw the rebranding of the athletics mascot and logo, and was a part of adding 12 new sports to the athletics department.
Ms. Cephers oversaw the promotion and coverage of all athletic programs. In addition to being the Sports Information Director, Ms. Cephers was an adjunct professor for the College of Business.
Prior to Bluefield State Ms. Cephers spent one year at Southern University and A & M College as the Associate Sports Information Director and the Assistant Director of Marketing and Development. During her time at SU, Ms. Cephers assisted game-day operations for football and basketball. She also managed the official Southern University Athletics website and the official social media handles for Southern University athletics. Ms. Cephers oversaw several sports by keeping game stats, handling media requests, and writing recaps.
Ms. Cephers earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism in 2018 and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Southern University and A & M College in 2020. While pursuing her master's, Ms. Cephers began working as a Graduate Assistant and was later promoted to Associate Sports Information Director before the conclusion of the degree.
