Baltimore, Md. (Apr. 7, 2023) --- Morgan State allowed just four hits in a doubleheader sweep of visiting Delaware State in a MEAC doubleheader today, winning both games by 8-0 scores. In the opener, Morgan State's Anaya Hunte allowed just two hits, while striking out six in six innings to earn the win. Centerfielder Uxua Lopez had both hits in game one for Delaware State, a two-out double in the top of the first and a leadoff single in the fourth. Third baseman Vic Fletcher was three-for-three with four runs batted in, while Mia Ewell had three hits and a RBI in four at bats to lead the Bears' 13-hit attack in game one.
In game two, Fletcher tossed five shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out five in the five-inning game. Felicity Munoz and Emma Crowe collected the game two hits for Delaware State. Fletcher was also two for three with three RBI at the plate in the second game.
The Hornets and Bears will wrap up the series with a single game on Sunday at noon in Baltimore.
