Dover, Del. (Apr. 29, 2023) --- The Delaware State women's lacrosse team bid so long to its second stint in the Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference with a 20-5 loss to Liberty in the 2023 finale for the Hornets, who will compete in the Northeast Conference next season. Liberty, the 2023 ASUN regular season champion, led 10-0 after the first period and were never threatened to improve to 11-6 overall and 7-0 in conference play. After winning its first two games, the Hornets dropped their last 14 to end the season at 2-14 and 0-7.
Twelve players scored at least one goal for Liberty, led by Katie Colavito with four and three by CaI Merkel.
Zahra Smith had goals and Ebony Reddick tallied three to account for Delaware State's scoring.
