Dover, Del. (Apr. 2, 2023) --- North Carolina Central completed a three-game sweep of Delaware State in a MEAC series with two wins today. The Eagles won the first game 11-3 and completed the sweep with a 5-2 victory in game two.
In the opener, Nyla Rogers was 2-for-2 with three runs batted in, while Takia Nichols and Maegan Garrison drove in two runs each to lead NC Central's 10-hit attack. Ashanti Eubanks tossed a five-inning complete game, allowing just three hits and no earned runs, to collect the win for the Eagles. Delaware State scored its three runs in the third inning, including a run-scoring single by Emma Glawson.
In game two, Eubanks pitched a seven-inning complete game, allowing just two unearned runs and three hits. Garrison smacked a two-run homer in the fourth inning to give the Eagles a 4-1 lead.
Felicity Munoz had a double, while
Emma Crowe and Joie Raybourn each singled to account for the Hornets' three hits.
The Hornets return to action with a three-game Easter weekend series at Morgan State (Apr. 7-8).
