DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State women's basketball team capped off its 2022-23 regular season with a 68-44 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) win over University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) on Thursday night.

With three Hornets in double-figures in the win, the offense was led by freshman guard
Savannah Brooks who ended her freshman year with a new season-high 20 points which led all scorers in the victory. Brooks shot 6-of-16 from the field powered behind a game-best five triples. She finished the game with eight rebounds, three steals, and a pair of blocks and assists each.

Tyshonne Tollie notched a double-double by way of 14 points and a game-best 13 rebounds while
Jayla Johnson totaled 12 on three-of-five shooting from the field while sinking five of her six free-throws.

Alexis Moragne finished off her final game at Memorial Hall with eight points, two steals, two assists and one rebound.
Jessica Martino capped off her career with four points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal while
Rebecca Ford came down with a rebound in her final appearance in a Hornet uniform.

Tonight's win marks the largest margin of victory over a Division I opponent for Delaware State for the first time since the Hornets defeated the Spartans of Norfolk State 79-47 back on February 14, 2009.

As for the postseason, Delaware State will learn its fate in the coming days of who they will take in the opening round of the 2023 MEAC Tournament. Further information will be released once it becomes available.
