THE GAMEĀ 
Delaware State (6-22; 4-9 MEAC) wraps up the 2022-23 regular season at home against MEAC rival Maryland-Eastern Shore. The game also marks the final Memorial Hall appearance for senior forward Ronald Lucas. The Hornets enter the contest on a two-game losing streak, including an 82-72 setback to Coppin State in their last outing on Monday. Martaz Robinson was high scorer for Delaware State with 17 points in the contest, his 10th game topping the double-figure mark in the last 11 outings. Robinson also dished out six assists to tie with Corey Perkins for team-high honors. He also grabbed eight rebounds to tie with teammate Kyle Johnson for tops on the Hornets. Perkins was the only other double-figure scorer for the Hornets with 15 points, his second-best scoring mark this season. He was five-for-eight from the field, including two-of-three on three-point shots, and did not commit a turnover in the contest. For the season, Robinson leads the Hornets in scoring and rebounding, averaging 11.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. In addition, he's second on the Hornets with 77 assists this season. Brandon Stone, who has missed several games of late with a knee injury, is second on the team in scoring at 11.3 points and in rebounding at 5.2 per game. Staten is the Hornets' third-leading scorer at 9.0 points per game. Perkins has a team-high 106 assists, while O'Koye Parker tops the team with 39 three-point field goals on 88 attempts (.443).Ā Ā 

UMESĀ  (16-12; 8-5 MEAC) is currently fourth in the MEAC standings, one game ahead of fifth place Morgan State. The Hawks are coming off a 68-61 home loss to Morgan State on Monday. UMES hit just 19 of their 62 shots from the field (30.6%) and outrebounded 47-38 in the contest. Da'Shawn Phillips was high scorer for the Hawks with 17 points, while Zion Styles added 14 points in the game. For the season, Kevon Voyles leads the team in scoring at 12.6 points per game. Styles is second on the Hawks with an 11.6 point-per-game average, while Nathaniel Pollard, Jr. is the top rebounder at 7.9 per game.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā 

THE SERIES Ā (UMES leads 58-57)
This is the second meeting between the Hornets and Hawks this season. Maryland-Eastern Shore won the first contest 68-66 on Jan. 14 in Princess Anne, Md., its third straight win in the series.Ā  This year's first meeting featured 18 lead changes and eight ties. The Hornets had the final possession with the Hawks leading by two but came up empty. The Hornet loss overshadowed a stellar performance by guard Martz Robinson, who led all players with a then career-high 24 points on six-for-12 shooting from the field, including two three-pointers on three attempts, and 10-of-11 on free throw attempts. He also topped the Hornets with eight rebounds. Raymond Somerville (3-3 FG; 4-4 FT) and Kyle Johnson added 10 points and seven rebounds each for Delaware State in the game. The Hornets led by as many as 10 points in the first half, but settled for a 32-31 lead at the break. UMES won the second half 37-34.Ā
