DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State men's and women's cross country teams hosted its annual Sting Invite to open the 2022 season.

Delaware State claimed team victories for both the men's and women's events.

The Hornet men finished with a total time of 1:24:34 averaging 16:54 per finish.
Devin Smith took home the top spot to open his sophomore season after clocking a time of 16:26.2.

Mosa Aboeid and
Jose Rivera-Yetter crossed the finish line after Smith, coming in second and third respectively. Aboeid ran a final time of 16:40.0 while Rivera-Yetter clocked a 16:53.6.

Bryant Adams, Jr. and
Ezekiel Dawkins clinched top-10 finishes after coming in eighth and tenth respectively. Adams, Jr. finished with a time of 17:14.4 with Dawkins clocking a time of 17:20.7.

Delaware State returns to action next Saturday to compete in the Maryland Eastern Shore Farm Run hosted by University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
