Delaware State drops home opener to Iona

DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State women's soccer team dropped its 2022 home opener to the Gaels of Iona University 5-1 on Thursday.
 
Kiarah Jones broke the scoreless seal for the Hornets in the waning minutes of the game to avoid the shut out.
 
Delaware State will return to Drass Field on Sunday in a contest with Rider University. Kickoff is currently scheduled for 2 p.m.
