Dover, Del. (Apr. 10, 202) --- Morgan State pitchers held Delaware State to five hits in a doubleheader sweep today.
The Bears took game one 9-0 and completed the sweep with a 10-2 victory in the nightcap.
In the opener, Morgan's Anaye Hunte tossed a one-hit, five-inning shutout, while striking out 10 to earn the win.
Mia Ewell was three-for-three with three runs batted in to lead the Bears in the opener. Tayven Rosseau drove in two runs in game one for Morgan State.
Jonah Cunnigan had a two-out double for Delaware State's lone hit in the opener.
In the nightcap, the Hornets trailed 2-0 before scoring a run in the bottom of the first and another in the second to tie the score.
Kyla Johnson singled in Delaware State's first-inning run and Cunnigan drove in a run on a ground out in the Hornet second.
Morgan State scored three runs in the third and put four on the board in the sixth to take control of the game.
Aliya Ewell was four-for-four with a run batted in to lead the Bears' 10-hit attack in game two.
The Hornets are scheduled to return to action with a four-game series at Coppin State next weekend. The teams are scheduled to play two games on Fri. (Apr. 15) and two on Saturday (Apr. 16).
