THE GAME 
Delaware State (1-10; 0-0 MEAC) is home for the last time in 2022 to take on Wagner College of the  Northeast Conference (NEC). The Hornets are looking to snap a string of nine straight losses since their lone win of the season, 104-67 vs. Immaculata (Pa.), on Nov. 10. Delaware State is coming off
an 85-52 loss at Drexel last Saturday. The Hornets only trailed 18-14 after a basket by Kyle Johnson, but the Dragons scored the next 15 points, and pulled ahead 33-14 after a on a three-point field goal midway through the first half. Drexel ran off 10 straight points later in the half, and stretched its lead to 43-15 on another three-point basket at the 1:59 mark of the half. The Dragons led 48-16 at the break. Drexel was 18-for-32 from the field, including nine-of-18 on three-point shots in the first half. Delaware State could get to closer than 26 points in the second half. Brandon Stone was Delaware State's high scorer with 11 points on five-for-10 shooting from the field, and tied for the team-high with five rebounds. For the season, Khyrie Staten is tops on the Hornets in scoring at 11.2 points per game and in steals with 19. Staten is also second on the team with 12 three-point field goals. Brandon Stone, a transfer from Robert Morris University, is Delaware State's second leading scorer at 11.1 points per-game and is the Hornets' number one rebounder at 5.2 per game. O'Koye Parker is number three on the team with an 8.2 point per game average. He's also knocked down a team-high 15 three-point field goals. Guard Martaz Robinson leads the Hornets with 35 assists and is third in rebounding at 3.4 per game. Corey Perkins (so.), a Preseason All-MEAC Third Team selection, averages 3.9 points per game and is second on the Hornets with 29 assists.  
 
Wagner (5-4; 0-0 NEC) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 58-55 home victory over Stony Brook in its last outing on Dec. 15. The Seahawks trailed 32-26 at the break, but won the second half 32-23. Zaire Williams and reserve Javier Ezquerra led Wagner with 13 points each in the game, while Rob Taylor II also came off the bench to chip in 11 points. Brandon Brown grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for the Seahawks in their last outing. Williams is Wagner's leading scorer this season at 10.8 points per game, while DeLonnie Hunt is a close second at 10.6 points per contest. Rahmir Moore is also scoring a in double-figures for the Hawks, averaging 10.3 ppg. Brown is the team's top rebounder at 8.3 per game.                
 
THE SERIES (Delaware State leads 3-2) 
 The Hornets and Seahawks are meeting for the second year in row, and sixth time overall. Wagner won the last meeting 93-51 on Dec. 20, 2021 on its home court in Staten Island, NY. DeLonnie Hunt led five double-figure scorers for the Seahawks with 17 points, highlighted by four three-point field goals. Wagner was 12 for 28 on three-point shots (42.9% in the contest. Delaware State struggled from the field in the game, hitting just 15 of its 43 shots (34.9%),
including only two of 15 on three-point attempts (13.3%). The last time the teams met at Delaware State, the Hornets posted a 73-69 overtime win on Nov. 14, 2012.
