THE GAME
Delaware State (1-9; 0-0 MEAC) travels to the City of Brotherly Love for a non-conference match-up against Drexel of the Colonial Athletic Association. The Hornets are looking to snap a string of eight straight losses since their lone win of the season, 104-67 vs. Immaculata (Pa.), on Nov. 10. Delaware State is coming off a 75-69 loss to Georgian Court (N.J.) last Saturday. Georgian Court used a 31-6 second half run to key its victory. O'Koye Parker (sr.) came off the bench to lead the Hornets  with a game-and-season-high 24 points. Parker was eight-for-13 from the field, including six three-point field goals on nine attempts.  His six threes were the most by a Hornet since Pinky Wiley hit seven at Norfolk State during the 2019-20 season. Jevin Muniz had 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds for DSU. Muniz nailed a three-pointer just before the first half buzzer to give Delaware State a 27-24 lead at the break. After Martaz Robinson (nine points) hit a jumper to give the Hornets a 29-24 lead, Georgian Court controlled the next nine minutes to open up a 20-point lead. The Lions scored 31 of the next 37 points, highlighted by a 20-point spurt, to open up a 55-35 lead. The Hornets chipped away at the deficit over the next 10 minutes, and pulled to within 67-62 on Parker's fifth three-pointer of the game with 1:02 left to play. The Lions hit six-of-eight free throws to seal the win. For the season, Khyrie Staten is tops on the Hornets in scoring at 11.8 points per game and in steals with 17. Staten is also second on the team with 12 three-point field goals. Brandon Stone, a transfer from Robert Morris University, is Delaware State's second leading scorer at 11.1 points per-game and is the Hornets' number one rebounder at 5.2 per game. Parker's 24-point performance vs. Georgian Court lifted him to number three on the team with an 8.6 point per game average. He's also knocked down a team-high 14 three-point field goals. Guard Martaz Robinson leads the Hornets with 31 assists and is third in rebounding at 3.6 per game. Corey Perkins (so.), a Preseason All-MEAC Third Team selection, averages 3.9 points per game and is second on the Hornets with 28 assists.

Drexel (4-3; 0-0 CAA) has dropped two of its last three games, including a 66-49 setback at Seton Hall in its most recent outing on Wednesday (Dec. 14). Amari Williams led three double-figure scorers for the Dragons with 14 points in the contest. He also led all players with 11 rebounds in the game. Coletrane Washington added 11 points, while Yame Butler came off the bench to chip in 10 points in 11 minutes for Drexel in its last game. For the season, Williams leads the Dragons in scoring at 15.0 points and in rebounding at 8.0 per game. Washington is second on the team in scoring at 12.8 points per game, and is tops with 27 three-point field goals.
