LINCOLN, Neb. --- The Delaware State women's volleyball team saw its historic season come to an end in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship at the hands of the Huskers of University of Nebraska.
Alondra Maldonado led the way offensively with eight kills while
Danielle Allen chipped in with three.
Valeria Otero and
Kelsie Dawson each landed a pair of kills.
Setters
Malgorzata Andersohn (9) and
Alayna Lacy (5) combined for 14 of the team's 17 assists.
Defensively, libero
Jasmal Cruz notched a team-high 10 digs with Andersohn and Otero notching eight each.
Linsday Krause and Ally Batenhorst led the way for the for the Huskers offense with 11 points apiece.
Delaware State ended the 2022 season with a final record of 24-7 and a mark of 11-3 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) competition. The 2022 MEAC Champions competed in the Women's Volleyball Championship for the first time in program history.
