DOVER, Del. --- No. 3 Delaware State earned a trip to the semifinal round of the 2022 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Championship after sweeping No. 6 North Carolina Central University 3-0 on Friday.

Maldonado landed a match-high nine kills and was in on four assisted blocks for a total of a game-best 11 points. While Otero only notched five kills, she racked up a match-best five service aces for a total of 10 points.

Kelsie Dawson led the Hornets' defensive dominance with one solo block and a game-best five assisted blocks and with five kills, she finished with 8.5 points in the win. Senior middle blocker
Sydney Lewis also notched five kills, one solo block and four assisted blocks giving her eight total points on the night.

Jasmal Cruz dug Delaware State out of 15 North Carolina Central attack attempts as the Hornets held the Eagles to a -.011 hitting percentage.
