DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State women's cross country team hosted the DSU Farm Invite over the weekend.

As a team, the Hornets finished in second place with a total time of 1:51.02 for an average of 22:12 per finish.

Delaware State was led by sophomore
Ashley Lagat who came in first place with a final time of 20:11.6. She was 13 seconds faster than the runner who finished in second place, this is also Lagat's second-straight top-five individual finish as she came in fifth last weekend at the Don Cathcart Invitational.

Purity Kattam,
Jenna Blauser and
Jazelle Griffin all placed in the top-10 individually. Comer finished sixth after running a time of 21:45.5 with Kattam right behind her in seventh place with a final time of 22:02.8. Blauser took the ninth spot with a time of 23:27.5 and Griffin rounded the top finishers for the Hornets in 10 th place with a time of 23:55.5.

Delaware State returns to action this Saturday in Newark, Delaware at the Delaware Invitational hosted by University of Delaware.
