NEWARK, Del. --- The Delaware State women's cross country team finished off the 2022 regular season at the Delaware Invitational hosted by University of Delaware.

As a team, Delaware State placed fifth with an average time of 28:16.45 per finish.

Ashley Lagat added another top-10 finish to her season after coming in ninth place with a time of 25:07.34.

Purity Kattam and
Jazelle Griffin finished in the top-half of the field in 28th and 29th respectively. Kattam clocked a 27:52.04 while Jazelle ran a 27:52.58.

Jenna Blauser and
Asharia Matthews rounded out the Hornet runners coming in 31st and 50th respectively. Blauser ran a 28:04.80 final time while Matthews ran a time of 32:25.49.

Delaware State will compete again in two weeks in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship race.
