Princess Anne, Md. (Sep. 26, 2021) – The Delaware State University women's cross country team placed fourth out of seven teams at the Shore Invite hosted by University of Maryland Eastern Shore this weekend.
The Hornets collected a total of 96 points (1:52.29 total time) in the 5K race. Howard won the team competition with 34 points (1:42.59).
Tai Brown was the first Delaware State runner to cross the finish line, ranking eighth out of 40 runners with a time of 20-minutes-55.9 seconds.
Leila Garraud, who finished 13th at the DSU Invite two weeks ago, finished 11th at The Shore Invite with a season-best time 21:22.3.
Jaelyn Windham also had a top 20 performance for the Hornets, finishing 19th place with a time of 21:50.0.
The Hornets will be back in action next Saturday (Oct. 2) at the Salisbury Invite hosted by Salisbury University.
