Princess Anne, Md. – A record-setting performance by
Albert Norman led Delaware State to a first place finish at The Shore XC Invite this weekend.
Norman, competing in his first race of the season, was first among 42 runners to cross the finish line with a modern-day Delaware State record time of 25-minutes-57 seconds in the 8K race.
Norman's time was nearly 18 seconds ahead of teammate and runner-up
Devin Smith, who posted a time of 26:15.4 to give DSU the top two finishers in the race.
Overall, the Hornets topped the seven team field with 22 points and a total time of two-minutes-14.05 seconds.
Howard University was second in the team standings with 46 points and a total time of 2:18.51.
Delaware State also had the fourth and fifth place finishers in the race.
DSU's
Jose Rivera-Yetter was fourth with a time of 26:48.8, while
Mosa Aboeid was fifth at 27:06.8.
Ezekiel Dawkins gave the Hornets a fifth top 10 finisher, coming in 10
th at 27:57.3.
