SMYRNA, Del. – The Delaware State University women's cross country team opened the 2021 season with a win at the DSU Sting Invite on Saturday.
Maria Garcia Rabago led the Hornets with a second place finish running a time of 22:57.00.
Jenna Blauser (West Sunbury, Pa. / Moniteau) picked up a top-five finish of her own, her time of 23:26.70 placed her in a tie for fifth overall.
Tai Brown (Westlake, Ga. / Westlake) and Carmen Medina both finished in the top-10 for Delaware State. Brown placed seventh with a time of 23:54.80 while Medina was right behind for an eighth-place finish of 24:00.80.
The Hornets return to action on Saturday, September 25 when they compete in The Shore Invite hosted by University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
