Delaware State is looking to play spoiler in the MEAC North Division race. A win over Morgan State in either of the next two games would deny the Bears' hopes of tying Norfolk State and Coppin State for first in the final regular season division standings. The Hornets are also trying to snap a three-game losing streak. DSU is coming off back-to-back home losses to Coppin State last weekend, falling to the Eagles 81-66 on Feb. 27 and 94-74 on Feb. 28. The Hornets are led in scoring this season by senior guards Myles Carter and Pinky Wiley. Carter is tops on the team and seventh in the MEAC in scoring at 14.9 points per game. He has scored in double-figures in 16 of his 18 games this season, including a streak of eight in a row.  He's also second in the league in free throw shooting at 86.0%. Wiley is having a fine all-around season. He ranks 15th in the MEAC in scoring at 10.3 points per game and is fifth  in the league in assists at 4.0 per game (68 total). In addition, Wiley is fourth in the league in three-point field goals at 1.9 per game (33), highlighted by a career-best seven vs. Norfolk State on Jan. 17. Zach Kent (so.) has established himself as one of the MEAC's best rim protectors, ranking fourth in the league in blocks at 1.3 per game and fourth in total blocks at 19. Kent has also picked up his scoring of late, reaching double-figures in eight of the last 10 games to raise his season average to 10.6 points per game.

Morgan State is currently third in the MEAC North standings at 6-4. Norfolk State and Coppin State are tied for first in the division at 8-4. The Bears need wins over Delaware State in the next two days to create a three-way tie atop the standings. Morgan State has been idle since suffering back-to-back losses to Norfolk State on Feb. 13 and 14. (74-69 and 68-65). The Bears had won five games in a row prior to the Norfolk State defeats. Morgan State is tops in the MEAC in scoring offense at  80.4 points per game. Junior Troy Baxter is the MEAC's leading scorer at 16.9 points per game, while fellow junior De'Torrion Ware is sixth in the league with a 14.9 point per game average. MSU's Malik Miller is No. 2 in the MEAC in rebounding at 8.4 per game.
