The Game
Delaware State looks to end a five-game slide and close in on the MEAC North leaders this weekend. DSU is currently tied with Coppin State for third in the division at 1-4, two games behind co-leaders Howard and Morgan State (4-1). The Lady Hornets are coming off a 70-61 loss to Howard on Jan. 30 in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 30.
Kianna Coomber was the top player for the Lady Hornets in the contest with team-highs of 11 points and seven rebounds.

Janasia Law added eight points each in the contest for DSU. Howard knocked down 12 three-point field goals (12-for-25), while the Lady Hornets hit just three behind the arc (3-for-17). The Bison also scored 15 points at the free throw line (15-for-22). Delaware State went to the line only eight times, hitting five. The Lady Hornets are No. 2 in the MEAC in free throw shooting at 72.5% (87-for-120). For the season,
Sha Collins (sr.) is DSU's top scorer at 8.2 points per game. Newcomer
Daije Harris (sr.) has moved into second place on the team in scoring at 6.7 points per game.
Janasia Law (sr.) is having a good all-around season, ranking third on the Hornets in scoring (6.6 ppg), tops in assists (27), fourth in rebounding (4.7 pg) and tied for second in three-point field goals (7). Forward
Zoe Holmes (sr.), who has sat out the last two contests, averages 6.3 points and is the No. 11 rebounder in the MEAC at 6.3 per game.Â

Coppin State has played just one game since Jan. 17, a 69-51 loss to Baltimore rival Morgan State last Saturday (Jan. 30). CSU's
Aliyah Lawson led all players in the contest with 27 points, highlighted by five three-point field goals. She also tied for game-high honors with 12 rebounds, including four offensive boards. Lawson enters the weekend as the No. 2 scorer in the MEAC at 15.9 points per game. She's also the league's top three-point shooter at 3.0 per game (21 total). Coppin's Jalynda Salley is third in the MEAC with a .489 shooting percentage ((23-for-47) and is fifth in the league in rebounding at 7.9 per game.

Delaware State vs Coppin State Series History (CSU leads 42-30)
The Hornets and Eagles split two games earlier this season in Baltimore, Md. Coppin State won the first contest 56-54. The Hornets avenged the loss the following day with as 60-45 victory. The teams have met a total of 72 times over the years, with Coppin State holding a 42-30 lead in the series. Delaware State won the last meeting in Memorial Hall 72-55 during the 2019-20 season.Â
