Dover, Del. (Dec. 20, 2021) --- Wagner used a balanced scoring attack to hand visiting Delaware State its eighth straight loss, 93-51, at the Spiro Center this evening.
Delonnie Hunt led five double-figure scorers for the Seahawks with a game-high 17 points. Wagner's Alex Morales had 15 points and tied for game-high honors with seven rebounds.
The Seahawks won for the third time in their last four games to improve to 5-2 this season.
D'Marco Baucum came off the bench to lead the Hornets with a season-high 15 points, highlighted by eight-for-10 shooting from the free throw line.
Dominik Fragala was the only other double-figure scorer for DSU with 10 points.
Delaware State center
Chris Sodom also tied for game-high honors with seven rebounds and blocked three shots to lead all players. Sodom was tops in the MEAC in blocks heading into tonight's play.
The Hornets were 15-for-43 from the field (34.9%), including just two-of-15 on three-point shots (13.3%).
DSU was also plagued by 23 turnovers in the contest.
Wagner shot 45.6% from the field for the game, connecting on 26 of its 57 shots, including 12 of 28 on three-point tries (42.9%).
The Seahawks also held a 43-25 rebound advantage.
The Hornets are right back in action on Wednesday (Dec. 22) at Temple. Game time is scheduled for between 2 and 2:30 p.m. at the Liacouras Center on the Temple campus in Philadelphia.
It will be the Hornets' third game in five days, each on the road.
