Dover, Del. (Nov. 9, 2021) --- The Delaware State women's basketball team will begin its first season under new head coach
E.C. Hill on Tuesday evening at Stony Brook. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. in Stony Brook, N.Y.
This is the first head coaching position for Hill, a former college and professional basketball standout, who most recently served as an assistant coach at Towson University.
She signed to lead the Delaware State program last summer.
The Lady Hornets return just five players, including two with significant minutes,  from their 2020-21 squad, which was just 3-12 overall and 2-8 in the MEAC during pandemic shortened  season.
Senior forward
Kiana Coomber was tops on the team in scoring (8.4 ppg), rebounding (7.0 pg) and steals (22) last season.
Senior guard Janasia guard is a preseason All-MEAC third Team selection after averaging 5.9 points and leading the Lady Hornets with 45 assists during the 2020-21 campaign.
Delaware State women's basketball is scheduled to play 26 regular season games, including 12 at home, during the 2021-22 campaign.
Among the notable non-conference opponents visiting Memorial Hall this season are former MEAC rival  Hampton University for the home opener on Nov. 11 and the University of Delaware on Nov. 19.
