DOVER, Del. – The Delaware State University women's soccer team fell to the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Retrievers 5-1 at home on Thursday.

Senior forward
Savannah Ay (Jarrettsville, Md.) opened up the scoring with the game's first goal when she teed up a shot from approximately 35 yards out and sailed the ball right over the UMBC keeper's glove into the back of the net.

The Retrievers went on to score five unanswered goals to steal the road win.

Defensively,
Ashley Maribo (Brick, New Jersey/) tallied three saves during her time in net.

Delaware State will be back in action on Sunday in a road contest against South Carolina State University. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
