Hornets take third in home invitational

DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State University women's cross country team took third in the DSU Farm Invite on Friday.
 
Jaelyn Windham (Newport News, Va. / Menchville) was the fastest Hornet in the race, finishing seventh with a final time of 21:32.5.
 
Taniyah Brownridge (Chesapeake, Va. / Western Branch), Leila Garraud (West Orange, N.J. / West Orange) and Kyra Lyles (Gaithersburg, Md. / Quince Orchard) rounded out the top-20 finishers for Delaware State. Brownridge placed 15th with a time of 23:25.0, Garraud clocked a time of 23:39.0 to come in 16th and Lyles took 17th with a time of 23:51.6.  
 
The Hornets will prepare for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships which will take place October 28-29.
