Jahad Neibauer played free safety for the Hornets during their last four seasons. He totaled 239 tackles (14 tackles for loss) 12 pass breakups, four interceptions, three blocked field goals, two forced fumbles, two quarterback hits and one safety during his career.
The Harrisburg, Pa. native did not start during his freshman campaign, but he quickly made an impact on the team. His first notable game was at Morgan State where he tallied nine total tackles and forced one fumble (Oct. 1, 2016). Neibauer finished his freshman year with 41 tackles, three pass breakups and one forced fumble.
He became a full-time starter during his sophomore year. He led the team with 78 total tackles. He had two games with 10 or more tackles. The first game was against Norfolk State where he tallied 11 total tackles (Sep. 23, 2017). His second double digit tackle game was at N.C. Central where he reached a career high 12 tackles. (Oct. 28, 2017) He helped DSU secure their first victory in over a year with a 17-14 win vs. South Carolina State , by leading the team with eight tackles in the contest. He was second on the team in tackles with eight, in a 33-30 win over Morgan State (Nov. 11, 2017).
Neibauer's best season was his Junior season. He was second on the team in tackles (70), tackles for loss (7.0) and passes defended (ten). He led the team in interceptions (three) blocked kicks (two) and safeties (1). He also added two quarterback hits and forced one fumble. He was an All-MEAC Third Team Selection. Jahad Neibauer recorded a season high nine tackles, one pass breakup and a blocked kick at Norfolk State (Sep. 29, 2018)… He tied his season high with nine tackles (including one tackle for a loss) and recorded a career high three pass breakups at South Carolina State (Oct. 20, 2018). The free safety had eight tackles (including one tackle for loss) two pass breakups and a forced fumble, helping Head Coach Rod Milstead earn his first collegiate victory, in a 28-13 win vs. NC Central (Oct. 27, 2018). Jahad Neibauer's best game was in a 25-6 win versus Savannah State University (Nov. 3, 2018). He recorded five tackles (one TFL) one sack, an interception that he returned 30 yards and recorded a safety, in route to being selected as the MEAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week. In the season finale he recorded a career high two interceptions, also added six tackles and one hit on the quarterback in a 41-7 win vs. Virginia University of Lynchburg (Nov. 17, 2019).
Jahad Neibauer entered the 2019 campaign on the Preseason All-MEAC First team. He finished the year second on the team with 50 tackles (6.0 TFL). He also added one fumble recovery, one interception and one blocked kick. He recorded a season high 11 tackles (2.0 TFL) at Delaware. Had four games with five or more tackles (Lincoln, Howard, at Morgan State & at NC. Central). Recovered a fumble and returned it 26 yards at Florida A&M (Nov. 2, 2019). Returned an interception 75 yards in his Senior Day game vs. St. Francis (Nov. 23, 2019). Neibauer graduated with a bachelor's degree in Management.
