Dover, Del. (Feb. 1) --- The Delaware State Lady Hornets defeats Coppin State 72-55.  The highlight of the game happens when Tierra Floyd inbounds the ball to Lanayjha Ashe who goes coast to coast and skies in the air to finish with a layup despite the foul. The senior guard from Northwest Halifax high school hits the ensuing free throw with 2:14 left in the game extending the lead to 20 points, their largest lead of the game, but more importantly it was Ashe's 1,000^th point of her career.

"I didn't want to be selfish with the ball, so I wasn't planning on reaching 1,000 points." Ashe said. "My shot was not falling in the first half.  I didn't know how many points I had but I was just letting it ride."  Ashe finished the game with 13 points.
