Dover, Del. (Feb. 14, 2019) ---Delaware State University Head Athletic Trainer has announced the appointment of Andrew Dunn and Jasmin Lalin to the department staff as assistant trainers.
Dunn most recently served in a similar position at Cheyney University in Pennsylvania since 2010. In 2016, he was appointed as the university's Interim Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance.
His duties included prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of athletics injury for the Wolves' football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball track and field, tennis and bowling teams.
Dunn earned bachelor's degrees in Athletic Training from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in and in Biology from Millersville University in 2010.
He holds a master's in Management Studies (concentration: Intercollegiate Athletic Administration) from California University of Pa. (2014).
In December 2015, Dunn received a Post Master's Certificate – Corrective Exercise Specialist from California University (Pa.) National Academy of Sports Medicine.
He is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer, Pennsylvania Licensed Athletic Trainer and National Academy of Sports Medicine Corrective Exercise Specialist. He is also certified by National Provider Identification, American Heart Association and Mental Health First Aid USA.
Lalin joined the DSU staff after serving as Interim Assistant Director of Sports Medicine at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania since July 2018. Her primary sport responsibilities included softball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's field hockey, women's lacrosse and women's tennis. In addition, she assisted with care for the school's football and volleyball teams, along with summer camps.
From July 2017 to July 2018, Lalin was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where she worked with the school's sports medicine to provide care for all sports.
The previous year, she was an Athletic Training Intern at Shippensburg, and was enrolled in Lock Haven University's Athletic Training Program from August 2016 to May 2017.
Lalin earned a bachelor's in Athletic Training from on Lock Haven and a master's in Exercise Science and Health Promotions with a concentration in Rehabilitation Science and Sport Psychology from California University of Pennsylvania.
She holds a Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine License, is a Board Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC), NASM Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist, National Provider Identifier, NASE Level II Speed Specialist, Tecnica Gavilan Trained; and American Red Cross CPR / Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certified.
