BALANCED TIGERS ROLL TO VOLLEYBALL WIN OVER HORNETS

Dover, Del. (Oct. 24, 2018) --- Olamide Sonuga tallied nine kills and five blocks, while Jocelyn Kuilan had eight kills on 11 attacks to lead Towson to a 3-0 volleyball win over Delaware State in Memorial Hall this evening. The scores were 25-18, 25-10 and 25-16.

The Tigers won for the second time in three matches to improve to 11-13, while the Hornets dropped their eighth straight contest to fall to 2-22 this season.

Sydney Armbrister (sr.) led Delaware State with seven kills. DSU Nia Scott (fr.) topped all players with 10 digs.

In the first set, Delaware State led 11-8 before Towson scored 10 of the next 11 points to take control. The Tigers opened up an 18-12 lead on kill by Olivia Finkel. The Hornets could get no closer than four points the rest of the set.

In the second set, Towson jumped out to a 14-4 lead and never looked back.

The Tigers had 19 kills and just four errors in their set three win.

Towson had a .405 attack percentage in the match, recording 42 kills and 10 errors on 79 attacks. Delaware State had 23 kills and 17 errors on 80 attempts for a .075 hitting percentage in the contest.

The Hornets will play their next three matches on the road, beginning with a visit to Maryland-Eastern Shore on Sunday (Oct. 28). The match is set for 3:00 p.m. in Princess Anne, Md.
