Dover, Del. (Oct. 9, 2016) --- The injury-plagued Delaware State volleyball team put up a tough fight in each set , but came up short in a 3-0 loss to Morgan State in a MEAC match Memorial Hall this afternoon.

The scores were 25-22, 25-18 and 25-23.

Morgan State's Keana Brown led all players with 15 kills, while Natashia Baker had eight.

Jae Jackson led the Hornets with eight kills, while DSU's Aaliyah McBean topped all players with 10 digs. Gabriella Enriquez had a team-high 24 assists for the Hornets.

Morgan State posted a .163 hitting percentage in the match, recording 33 kills and 18 errors on 92 attacks.

DSU outside hitters Ariana Stevens (sr.), Sydney Armbrister (fr) and Sabrina Szmajduch (jr.) sat out the contest due to injury.  

The Hornets had 29 kills and 21 errors on 92 attempts for a .087 hitting percentage.

Morgan State improved to 3-16 overall and 3-2 in the MEAC, while DSU fell to -0-18 and 0-5.

The Hornets return to action on Tuesday with a non-conference match against Towson.  The contest begins at 7 p.m. in Towson, Md.
