DSU VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO STONY BROOK

Stony Brook, N.Y.  (Oct. 23, 2015) --- Kathy Fletcher tallied 15 kills and Stephanie McFadden 11 to lead Stony Brook to a 3-0 non-conference win over visiting Delaware State at Pritchard Gymnasium this evening. The scores were 25-8, 25-12 and 25-13.

Jasmine Jackson led the Hornets with eight kills, while Marisol Arredondo and Taylor Marshall had seven assists each.

The Seawolves (10-14) posted a .558 hitting percentage in the match, recording 51 kills and eight errors on 77 attacks.

The Hornets (2-18) had a .031 hitting percentage (17 kills/15 errors /64 attempts) in the contest.

McKyla Brooks and Taylor Wilson added eight kills each for Stony Brook, while Nicole dished out 42 assists for the Wolves. Brooks also led all players with seven blocks.

Delaware State totaled 11 blocks. Jackson and Jenessa Helu led the Hornets with three each.

DSU returns  to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action on Sunday (Oct. 25) against Howard. The match begins at 1 p.m. in Memorial Hall.
